ZombiePandemic - a Free Browser-based Zombie MMORPG Reviews icon
Posted by Wrim @ 8:17 pm Thursday June 16th

Using a laptop with the lack of both sound and a decent graphic-card kinda limits your gaming abilities. One way to satisfy your gaming needs with a low-end computer is to play Browser-based MMORPGs.

Play ZombiePandemic.

Pros: The usual RPG stuff, level up, get better equipment, kill zombies.
Cons: You run out of Stamina pretty quickly and have to wait. It's currently in Beta.

It's a game that strives to be realistic. You would rather avoid zombies than fight everything you encounter.
It's also a slow game, where you spend more time planning than grinding. Quests are very rewarding when it comes to XP and there's little need for actual combat.
This game is suited for people who only have time to play for about one hour or so every day. If you love grinding I suggest you check out Progress Quest.

If you do take the time to try this game, consider joining a clan *coughjointhewalkingdeadcough*
You get access to safehouses and training areas and there's often a Living Quarter close at hand where you can rest and recover your Stamina Points with up to 25% in bonus speed compared to normal resting.

Knolif - Why you should play it Reviews icon
Posted by Wrim @ 1:26 am Thursday April 28th

Knolif is a newly released free online browser based game written in PHP where you do the regular MMORPG stuff. Choose one of three factions to fight for (Terminus, Brotherhood and Kron) to conquer territory and dominate the map.

Pros: It's nice to have something to click on every now and then.
Cons: it's still, and I quote: "sorta WIP".

If you decide to check it out, click the image below to give me referral-points.

Oh, and join the Kron faction and help me kick some Brotherhood butt.
I'm saving up to form Kron's first Regiment and could use some help.

The Segagaga Translation Project Reviews icon
Posted by Wrim @ 11:10 am Monday March 28th

This site doesn't encourage you to do much else than to draw ponies, but there are some projects not directly related to this site that you should follow.
One of those projects is the the English language patch of a Sega Dreamcast game called Segagaga.

I played the Japanese version and died pretty quickly. Looked fun though!
And it's a must for any Sega fan.
I can't wait to take a ride on that Dreamcast Stick.

There are a lot of people who've reviewed this better than I ever could so I'm just gonna link you to what you want to know.

Coco Wang's China 5.12 Earthquake Strips Review Reviews icon
Posted by Wrim @ 1:50 am Monday July 19th

f you haven't read Coco Wang's China 5.12 Earthquake Strips you probably should, and here's why:

Some artists take forever to build up an atmosphere, but Coco Wang manages to deliver a neat slice-of-real-life story in a matter of a few frames.
Her comic strips are based on real stories found in newspapers from the 2008 Sichuan earthquake aftermath.
It deals with humanity's strive for survival and teaches us the values of family and friendship and when you're done reading you can't help but to feel emotionally attached to the characters.

And that's where it gets better.
To me the best comics aren't the ones who delivers an awesome punchline or even great character development,
it's the ones that sends your brain into philosophic-mode for 5 hours after you've read it.
It's not the content itself, it isn't the message it delivers,
it's the next step in your head that makes this comic a must-read.

"I hope you could know something about the earthquake in China, although you don't have to do anything, but I hope you could feel our love and hope." - Coco Wang
